Fibre Browsing Delay?

Hi all,

I had my Telkom 100mbps line now for about 3 months now, download performance is great, including pings & latency.

I do however have regular 3 to 5 second delays in opening websites when browsing or sometimes these even time out with an error page which I have to refresh. This does not happen all the time but frequent enough to be a problem especially when I haven't used my browser in i.e. the last 15mins or so.

I have the Telkom Zyxel router and have played around a bit with QoS but no change...

Anyone else experienced this? I'm considering asking for a new router from them.

I am on VUMA, but have not experienced the same

Could be that your pc or router is not configured for the high speed line. I would check all components to ensure that they are compatible with the high speed line. Also check the wifi radio on your devices.

Off the bat, sounds like DNS could be performing badly.

Try change from the default DNS to Googles DNS (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/)

Came to say this. Try different DNS settings.
