Fibre coverage

Riddle me this...

Looking at coverage for a friend. Telkom put fibre on the poles behind their house. Literally went on their property to put it up.

Coverage map indicates that in that street the houses just to the left and just to the right are covered, but not them. Literally houses 50m each way have coverage according to map.

Is this a map fluke or an actual technical thing?

Could be either.

Are you saying their direct neighbours are covered? Got a zoomed in pick of the map?

Pulled results by house number @ Telkom's tool so not a visual estimate over coverage

Got a zoomed in pick of the map?
Do forgive the censored image...but technically not my info to give away. Fibre on poles is where the 10 is

Call them and ask, also explain the the fiber runs through their proper and houses on both sides are covered. Ask them to check if it's no a map error.

Are you checking on the Open Serve site or on an ISP website? Also, before it can go live, Open Serve needs to install a termination point inside the actual house, not just the poles outside. This may be the case at your friend.

Nope, it goes live without any cabling or termination point on the property.

Maybe check some ISP sites as well. The Open Serve maps are not always accurate.
