Is there an advantage in connecting DSTV through fibre going forward.

Yes, because satellites from space transmit faster when connected via fibre - which means you get KykNet at 2x the speed.

Yes, if you are in an estate or complex and you are concerned about the aesthetics of having a dish mounted to each unit..

Personally don't have DSTV, cause I'm a normal human being who only watches movies and series, but correct me if I'm wrong, you only get Supersport on the premium package?

Edit: Just had a look, you do get sport channels on the lower packages, but not supersport 1, where most of the good action is.

No, DStv can be distributed through fibre.. plenty of the newly built apartment complexes opt for this route..

Pretty sure that's what he was referring to, as DSTV Now is a streaming service.

No sir, that would be Supersport 3 for the Premier League.

Its amazing how people miss construe a question. At no time was it asked "should you or shouldn't you have DSTV", that's personal! The question was, would it be better to upgrade to fibre rather than replace tired coaxial as a form of cabling. Further, It was also asked, are there any benefits to go the fibre route! It has been rumoured that DSTV are going more the digital with faster downloads. I am sure we all know about steaming directly from a Router, that not the question. There will be DSTV for a long while to come as the rural areas all use dishes.
