Fibre in Ramsgate

Well, important thing as I learned today is to make sure those cables are sticking out in the right place. I always thought they lead it from the manholes but apparently not its just connection points, especially if they drilled under driveways, which they did with me.

But alas, yeah, at least its in.

One cable is for you and the other is for your neighbor.

There's no box on my wall inside or outside. There's nothing visible at all.

Cool, yeah it is right outside the house which is good. Just waiting on the email and a phone call then hopefully.

Openserve has started to place some regions as planned preorders, glad to see this took off at last! I'll wait it out for them instead as I wasn't fully ready to ditch F-LTE for Frogfoot's wild inconsistencies tbh.

Where do we check the areas? I'll be interested in a plan B.

So far the most clear way is openserve's coverage map, but this only marks Shelly Beach so far, the posters placed in some neighbouring areas and some ISPs placing it under pre-rollout vary so I hope they do update it soon and with some dates.

Installation charge deducted by Afrihost. No indication of install date yet...

Better not miss Trafalgar fiber company's or ill be mad! My family did see a Openserve sign up 2 days ago that said fiber is coming. I went to go check yesterday if the sign was there but unfortunately not.

Scheduled for saterday, apparently frogfoot got booted so they are contracting the installations out to Countrywide Power Generation, the email sent all the info including the contractors pic, number, the process & how long it will take ect ect. seems legit

Hi Rayne! The estimated dates we provide are a roughly calculated estimate of when your area might go live with fibre. Unfortunately, sometimes external factors, such as extra permits, prevent us from going live on our estimated dates. You can check for dates on our coverage map. https://bit.ly/30LvG2x
