Fibre in Ramsgate

All good, seems like cable from ont to router needs a new krimp. When I played around with the cable speeds returned to normal.

Ah yeah it blipped for a min and now this, but good to see, thanks!

Well a reboot did not work. All lights still green but nothing is happening.

@AfriNatic please see what you can find out or log a fault if there is none.

Cool Afriman I will just dust off the old trusty rain sim nea

It looks like the outage will be for some time. All available NLD routes are down with no access to repair due to weather conditions.

Well I have 9 days left on my LTE I cancelled so personally hoping its sorted soon.

Any other providers experiencing issues in KZN atm? Excuse me for saying it, but maybe if FF did a better job installing this infrastructure along the coast instead of burying cables 20 ****ing cm from surface like they did down here there would not have been severe issues now.

Latest update from ff and not looking good.

As you may be aware, KZN has been severely impacted by adverse weather conditions, causing widespread impact to the DBN community.

We would like to assure you that every effort is being made to maintain the Frogfoot network within the current conditions and restore services without delays where impact may occur.

The team will be monitoring the situation closely and are currently working on resolving any issues as soon as possible, however, customers can expect possible delays in restoring services to standard operational functionality. We thus ask for your patience as we complete remedial activities.

The current situation in KZN is unstable and we are therefore adapting as needed. Please note however, that the below issues may cause impact on the network:
1. Increased pressure on the network due to frequent load shedding, up to stage 4, combined with standard ‘break fix’ events and municipal power outages
2. Accessing nodes and points of break due to flooding becomes more challenging
3. Complexities surrounding safety of personnel in some areas are hampering work after hours, as well as some areas where vandalism has impacted well protected fibre access points.
4. Additional indirect impact of flooding due to obstructions where roads have collapsed cause extended impact even once the flood water is no longer an obstruction. This type of impact has already been noted on some highways.

You may experience downtime due to issues with the node affecting the below areas. We ask that you please report any incidents to your ISP.
1) Margate
2) Port Shepstone
3) Ramsgate
4) Seapark
5) Shelly Beach
6) Umtentweni
Regards
The Frogfoot Team

Where is this damaged node exactly as none of those areas suffered damages? And we have one node connecting us to the world?

If infrastructure is broken and link cut, why is all 4 lights and router green and not red?

Back up for now.
Huh? Earlier posts suggested it'll be a long down but glad to hear.

Though I'm too cold and lazy to go to my office now to switch network again. I'm on LTE now and will check FF tomorrow morning and report.

Hoping it'll be up because I cleared my PS5 drive last week before I even heard anything about this past storm coming and now I'm bored and need some stuff to download again.

I also thought we would be looking at days if not weeks of downtime, latency is a bit up but not bad but the upload speed is not looking great at all.
