Perhaps a gap in the market for 'spinners' to be attached to cables that make it difficult for these buggers to gain a purchase on

We have a large number of vervets, but they haven't done any serious damage, apart from letting the termination box on the pole fall off - but technician indicates it wasn't mounted properly by the installer. How are your vervet numbers? I see they have a jolly good time using the fibre as a transport route from pole to roof and subsequently needing OS to come out an repair where required.
When I was on Openserve here in PMB I saw them climbing and even swinging on the thin cable going to our roof almost daily. Sometimes even multiple adults and babies sitting on it at the same time and it still never broke, I was quite surprised how durable those cables are.We have a large number of vervets, but they haven't done any serious damage, apart from letting the termination box on the pole fall off - but technician indicates it wasn't mounted properly by the installer.
On the other hand, vervets tend to only use the thick backhaul cable as transportation route - still to witness one using the thin cable one that goes from pole to the roof - I suspect they know it's too thin for them. 18 months in with Openserve Fibre.
Do a speedtest to durban please? All up and running, its working that is all for now. It is currently on the 30 day trial with Openserve and at the end of the month I will activate the package with Afrihost to avoid double cost with ff.
If there is any issues or downtime I will add it in the thread.
Not sure why latency is higher to Durban but this is while using Telkom as a isp and not Afrihost.Do a speedtest to durban please?
Maybe they routing via Joburg and then back to Durban? Not sure why latency is higher to Durban but this is while using Telkom as a isp and not Afrihost.
It does seem like itMaybe they routing via Joburg and then back to Durban?
well well well it is friday again afterall, something is broken with ff.
Wow didn't even notice this. I upgraded the load balancing router to a gigabit one. So now combine uncapped Telkom 300gb package which gets about 70Mbps down with 1800mhz and 2100mhz combined, the FF 100Mbps fibre and MTN Fixed on band 41 which maxes out at 150Mbps down so most speedtests around 260Mbps down and 125 up.Hi,
Yes unfortunately the main NLD between Port Shepstone <-> Amanzimtoti is down.
Nice to see the 4ms to Durban - what package is that? Up and down ?Up and running, unfortunately lost a bit of upload with the openserve package but if downtime is less I am happy.
it is 250 down and 125 upNice to see the 4ms to Durban - what package is that? Up and down ?
Yeah, you will absolutely outlive us FF folk as your wires are on poles and ours laying on the ground. No issues so far with openserve, things are smooth and running well.
The tech actually asked me why im switching, i told him there is to much downtime every week and he was shocked. He said he thought that them being the first in the area they would make sure these things dont happen.Yeah, you will absolutely outlive us FF folk as your wires are on poles and ours laying on the ground.
Still nothing here in Tweni.
