Good Day

So I've just been informed that Stellenbosch has dark fibre and Cybersmart told me that we require a R10 000 monthly income from my area before they will commit to make the fibre connection active.

You can few the offers here : http://www.lightspeed.co.za/home_users.php

I would just like to see the amount of interest in our area ( dalsig/dalsighof/bodalsig/brandwacht )

If we don't want Cybersmart we can look at other ISP's also but I just need to get a general feel of interest in the area to make a call and show the ISP's that we want the fibre.

Regards

:p

So it is possible, but the minimum is based on what they can offer for their packages. We can do a single user but the connection costs still have to be covered starting at ~R6k monthly.

I see you guys are bit expensive hey ? but on the other hand that 50 mb unshapped package looks really good but the price is just a tad to high for FTTH

That's the connection fees, but it is fully uncapped/unshaped. Works out better if you split like the 10+ signups people want.

You should really mention that on the site then. If it gets cheaper the more people sign up.

Actually adding a scale would be a great idea.

No new packages on DFA product, other pricing is looking around R1299 for 100mbps on other open-access networks(Vuma/TT). Should have an announcement on that in next week or 2. Really is a waiting game until someone actually fibres area fully. DFA route is if you have really no other way and keen to pay.

So far Stellenbosch has really limited fibre access. See below.

Those are the only providers that I could find that have coverage in Stellenbosch. Would also like to hear what the plans are as I will be moving to Welgevonden next year.

You can also contact me directly here or jason @ sadv.co.za

Heh. So you are quite active in attempting to get new business but don't have the decency to be professional after we sign your proposal. Not replying to messages or answering calls to both myself and a member of our trustees shows how you do business. As I repeatedly said, if you can't be bothered, put me in touch with your project manager.

To prevent total thread derailment, use the one I've created : https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/892694-SADV-Pricing-for-DFA-What-are-they-charging-you

Sorry for thread hijack OP.

Yes, I have also been experiencing a lack of co-operation from the different companies. It is a big struggle

I would love to get Fibre in my neighborhood (Nuutgevonden).
Currently most companies are ignoring estates like Welgevonden, Nuutgevonden, Schoonspruit and Mt Simon.
Even the newer estates like Nooitgedacht village are left out.
There is SO much business opportunity just sitting there.
Quite a number of people I know, have signed up with DFA, Openserve, FrogFoot, AfriHost and others with either no response or an automated email.
Its extremely frustrating and disappointing to see them trenching 200 meters from your home and not being able to tap into it. Apparently its for the Stellenbosch municipality.

I pray this changes soon but have little hope.

Welgevonden is starting to look at fibre but nothing final yet, so there might be some hope for the surrounding estates as well.

In other news, it looks like Frogfoot is expanding their plans to cover more areas. See below.

Looking at the prices ISPs offer on their network it looks really good!
