So they started in our complex earlier ... Saw them in manholes checking to see it'll work. Literally day 1 so I don't think they done anything with cables.

Though, tonight my Internet is down from 19mbps to 2mbps - essentially the first time in years I've had an issue. Ping is up to 70ms ... But uploads perfect. Checking my stats I'm still syncing at 22mbps and the same SNR.

Is there anything these guys could have done to effect speed, or is this pure coincidence and tomorrow I may be ok a again?

I think you might be on to something.
Since they started working on fiber in my area my VDSL quality has been deteriorating. No sure about ping but definitely have lower sync rates and poor connection, usually got 20 mbps but for the past few weeks never more then 8 or so. But like you said it might be pure coincidence.

That wasn't during the digging phase - just in the complex from yesterday afternoon.

I see my speed is back to 19mbps (though 70ms ping still), so maybe coincidence
