Just moved from ADSL to fibre with mweb and frogfoot not sure who to blame but so far I can say fibre is kak. ADSL was more consistent and less headaches than fibre. Plus the mweb techie says I would need to wait 6 days for a call out! Wtf???
 
Oh forgot to mention the issue just been so irate. Most of the day I get less than 300kb per sec. When it works im getting 2mb on a 20/2mb line as it suppose to be but majority of the day it's either off or extremely slow.
 
My installation was suppose to take place two weeks after confirmation from mweb. frogfoot only sent their guys 10 days later so I asked the installer are u guys busy because I waited so long he said not really, some days they don't have work!?
 
Anyone know of some solutions to help improve the connection other than wait for 6 working days or restarting my router?
 
Lately I'm getting 300mbit on local speed tests on my 1gbit fiber connection. I thought I had it bad lol.
 
We’ll Rain 5G is a good option if it’s available in your area .Fibre isn’t bad it’s the provider that’s terrible
 
I have had Fibre for the last 5 years. First with Metrofibre and now with Vumatel. I can honestly say it is the absolute best connection I have ever had in my life.

You have just been unlucky.
 
Fibre is far superior than any wireless service hands down. It mostly comes down to the FNO if its kak you will have a kak line. I am on TT Connect and for like a year they were the worst, Congested pops, loops in the network, broadcast storms you name it but they fixed it took them ages but the connection now is stable. Today was my first outage in over a year. So OP i feel your pain but just fight it hopefully after time they will fix it.

If you haven't cancelled your Telkom yet, then it might be worth getting rid of your fibre and going back. Had I known what I was in for with Frogfoot....
Had no problems on 40mbps VDSL at all.
 
I had years of issues with ADSL before Telscum eventually sorted me out, now that was k@k.
Fibre, nah, mine has purring along nicely, smooth as a kitten in butter, like they say.
But I'm with Openserve, sometimes its just best to let the devil have his way with you in the interest of better internet..

Fiber providers have monopoly. Don't want to use frogfoot, cool fck you go suck the dick of adsl.

How this was allowed to happen is beyond me. In 5 years time neighborhoods will be hold ransom by the providers.

Where are you located? who provides the fibre backbone?
I presume Mweb is your ISP.
A photo of the installation would be nice, with a list of the device makes and model numbers.
And how about a few myBB speedtest results?

Telkom Copper randsom... Fiber provider randsome.... SSDD! I said we need to clean up tis country french revolution style... But no, I was told I'm wrong.
