Fibre is kak

/* Getting ready to be lynched

I'm on Telkom (OpenServe) fibre with the Telkom ISP for about 2 years. The service is fantastic. Only problem I had was about a month after installation, the speed slowed down to almost zero. I called the help desk, the agent reset the port and I've never had a problem since. I average about 700 to 800 gig of data per month.

In summary, fibre is definitely NOT k*k.

Correction, fibre providers in South Africa are kak.

Try using fibre in the UK, Germany or Canada. Worlds apart. None of this 20mbps crap.

Yes because they pay more to use public toilets than the ISP pay for transit in those countries..... Germany basically peers ALL their traffic in DE-CIX, AMS-IX, LINX, France-IX. They don't have to buy super expensive transit over long undersea cables like we do in SA.

Everyone is damaging this. There are no drawings where this pipes are. I suggest one person dig a big trench, replace old water pipe and lay pipes for eg fiber. Then anyone just use this already laid pipe and the residents have new water pipes.
unfortunately, common sense is not local government's strong suite.

I'd assume frogfoot uses cacti for monitoring and has never purchased any decent kuk.
Either that or no-one can drive the tools.

Well, even the council can't drive their tools either. You must see the damage they did to their own water pipe when trying to open up a water leak.
