Fibre is kak

Just moved from ADSL to fibre with mweb and frogfoot not sure who to blame but so far I can say fibre is kak. ADSL was more consistent and less headaches than fibre. Plus the mweb techie says I would need to wait 6 days for a call out! Wtf???
Change your post headline, you muppet.

Fibre is awesome technology and it works. Your issue is with the provider, not the actual technology.

Now wait till all these new fibres start getting old in 10 years time before they break enough, that will be sports.

So far 3 huge advertisers on street poles in Krugersdorp have closed down. Some with poles and cables left hanging...

Firstly who still uses MWEB... like seriously they are **** now... they were good when uncapped ADSL Launched and then when the started the FUP it was only downhill from there.

I am on VUMA and it was blazing from day one... except for the issues they had when the load shedding startup again and their switches were not protected from that, once fixed its been hassle free ever since.

Anyways I hope it comes right because FIBER is definitely better than ADSL just you are indeed have the worst experience of it... Maybe you can relate to the americans and their telco experiences a bit now LOL

but do yourself a favor... there are better more responsive ISP's than MWEB... top 3 would be Cool Ideas, Cybersmart and Evonet(Crystal Web). Would say VOX but they own frogfoot so maybe not.

Vox was the best ADSL provider I ever used.

Ill put a +1 in here, nothing beat Vox, they are spectacular, we had VDSL before our lines were EWC'd, would definitely use them for Fiber when the time comes

I would investigate the upstream provider before I expect them to perform miracles with nothing.

Fair enough, But I didn't say he shouldn't, was just confirming Vox is excellent, assuming the underlying infrastructure is not the problem

Startup fibre providers are suffering plenty of reputational damage as a result of LS. But, it is probably a good thing because now they may just get kicked hard enough to realise how important backup power is.

Fibre is not kak.
You are just having a bad experience.
It's like comparing a rotary HHD to an SSD drive.

Seems like Frogfoot go down quite a bit. My parents are using them and their Fibre goes down pretty often.

Could be due to their aggressive rollouts - at least in my parents case they are still rolling out in an area between them and the rest of CPT so I assume/hope its got to do with all the WIP.

I just recently signed up with Frogfoot after having a rock solid VDSL connection. Was hoping for the fibre dream but yeah seems like Frogfoot is an absolute joke. Constant issues and downtime.
