Fibre, oh so close

I have Fibre running on a main road around 700m from my house.

We are in a rural area, and DFA has a line running along the road around 700m from our plot. There are no Fibre ISP's in our area, but almost every single plot around us has wireless internet at ridiculous costs.

What options do you guys think there are for me, as well as maybe the other people in our area?

Try asking DFA to extend it to your place/neighbours. You might need a few signatures for them to consider though.

Thx, I've popped of an email to DFA.

If by some mirracle the DFA is willing to extend the line, there is the problem of finding an ISP, cause as far as i know DFA is not an ISP.

It depends on the Area..in Parkview FrogFoot is the access provider through DFA.. MWEB. Vox .coolideas are some of the ISPs available Actually in Parkview it's unique, DFA lay the fibre and light it up. Vodacom and Frogfoot have bulk deals which allow them to offer you the layer 2 as well. But...

DFA does not want to extend here even though I can hit the Fiber line with a Stone from my Office.

Apparently it costs R150/m to install fibre, so you're looking at R105K installation cost

The installation is not too much of an issue, its the monthly that is the issue.

As mentioned on PM it would only be business fibre with 24month commits sort of thing.
