Hi All,

I am moving over the weekend to a house that already has fibre installed. I am currently an Afrihost client.

I would like to know how long fibre relocations typically take. I have just booked one for this Saturday, but I want to confirm whether this is a realistic timeframe for a fibre relocation.

I work from home and require internet access on weekdays. Therefore, I need to know whether I need to make alternative arrangements if the fibre relocation takes longer than expected.

Thank you!

Hello.

Who's the FNO at the new house?
Do you know if the existing line has an active service?
Can I have the order number?

Currently going through this as well.

I'm an Afrihost client, the place I'm moving too had a fibre connection with another ISP, I've been advised that Afrihost can only process my order once the current ISP releases the line, and my luck, this particular ISP requires one calendar month notice.

So I'm hoping it is released tomorrow, its been tough with mobile data!

*Placed my order with Afrihost 3 weeks ago

I would suggest making alternative arrangements if possible

Going via mobile data is going to be tough..Both my wife and I work from home. I'm a dev so I can get away with mobile data to a certain extent, but her work involves moving around a huge amount of documents and files. Not ideal on mobile data

yeah it is rough... and costly.
Especially during loadshedding when the network goes to sh*t.
