Kalin in regards to the contracts that you will be sending

I myself will not be going the contract route...though it has been said that we will only be doing the contracts after the service is active/installed? if I remember correctly. correct me if I am incorrect

It depends on what this contract states. If it a commitment to buy a package from them (i.e. install the line), then I will have no problem. A binding 12/24 month may be another issue.

Well I saved up some money and will pay the 1500 construction so I dont have to take the 24month contract in case the service is not desirable ( which I dont see them screwing it up since we will be the ones telling future possible clients of their services). I have 100% trust that Kalin and his team has got this licked. I dont see any one going through the effort of bringing fibre to Secunda. So I think we owe them the benifit of the doubt.

Agreed. nevertheless. I still can't see how it can be undesirable, If I would be paying relatively the same amount for 10/10mb/1gbps(local) fibre. and I get 800kbps downrate instead of full speed, I Will not fling my poo.jpg across the room. To me that would still be a win and a fu.jpg to telkom. Win Win WINNNNN

Month to month user here ... don't do contracts unless it can be cancelled 1 month in advance ... or before month end. Will also do the construction fee as a once off. That's how I roll - sure 123Net won't disappoint - as long as I can stream I'm happy and it's not like hard drive space is relatively cheap - hopefully guys using the service will be more selective as HDD space is an issue with speeds like these. Besides its going to be cost saver for majority of Internet users in the area and will help with broadband penetration. So I'm in - got nothing to lose and everything to gain IMHO.

A new week. Hoping to get some news on a date for the start of construction since ICASA gave the paperwork. I am so excited. ;)

Meh the Hype train (at least for me ) has stopped if this happens it will happen if it doesn't that's fine as well.

Yea I agree. Maybe it will pickup again if we see some action. Been dead for a while now :(

Omg. Can't wait till I can give the finger to telkom coz barely getting 500kb's on a 4mb line totally sucks

Hey guys, don't be despondent.. things are happening behind the scenes, we promise!

Icasa has come to the party with the paperwork, and all our planning is done. The digging / trenching machinery is on its way, and we are in the process of hiring teams of workers to start ripping the town to shreds (in a good way, lol). Our carrier link has been organized to the centre of town, so basically almost everything is set. Keep an eye out for us soon, you never know where you might spot a 123NET contractor ;)

Hang in there! :p
