Fibre: Secunda Community

I pleaded for an improvement from both service providers and they said they pulling a line from Standerton.....

123net is actually a God send to an area that has the second highest bandwidth usage in Mpumalanga, 2nd only to Nelspruit, If telkom or mweb or afrihost or whoever dont look after their clientele. Then they are responsible for pushing us towards 123net and for that to date it seems we need to thank them for that

You might want to look at the 8Mbps line rental option that Telkom just released until 123net/other provider rolls out.

I would have moved away from telkom regardless of their crappy service. No one is pushing us to 123Net.. we are moving there like moses moved people through the ocean. with Joy and excitement.

Right, but if they have a reseller product before the resellers some will run to the competition commission again. So I don't expect them to have it yet.

I'm feeling a bit more （　´_ゝ`） . It is said that a lot is happening behind the scenes, but no feedback or updates makes one feel dejected. Would have hoped to see something happening by now.
 
Hehe.. good morning to all you excited Secunda residents!

Digging has been slightly delayed due to the municipality dragging their heels with necessary wayleaves, but our team is constantly on their case, making it happen as soon as possible. We will not lose any time, however, because in the meantime we will be starting the house installations. You guys should expect a phone call during this week or next week to arrange appointments. We will be installing the network box in your house, and will run fibre out to the street, waiting for the trenching to reach you.

We will be sending another newsletter to all Secunda signups, with details of agreement proposals & contracts. A lot is happening this week! Just a little more patience guys, we're nearly there :D
 
I have spotted some trenching as well as cabling in town. On your right as you go over old Trichardt road on PDP kruger bridge. There are also odd spots with chevron tape popping up through town... Saw an empty reel of cable with just some cable manufacturer on, cant remember now but next time I see it ill take a look. Will also definitely be on the lookout for the manholes to verify.

Hmm. There has been a lot of electrical cable work over the last few weeks. Some trenches going to substations and such.
I haven't seen any ducting around, so less likely to be fibre.

I just noticed the "Service Request Form Received!" email that 123Net sent me when I signed up, has an error in my address.

The house number is lacking a digit. Will you still be able to contact me on my cell phone? :cry::cry::cry:

Don't panic! If your cell number and email address are correct, then we will confirm your physical address when we contact you. Or if you like, you can PM me your correct details and I will adjust it on our database :)

Just remember guys, there are 570 Secunda signups in total.. It is true that we will start phoning customers to schedule house installations in the next 1 - 2 weeks, but we have many people to get to and you may or may not be one of the customers who gets a phone call straight away. We will get to you all though, I promise.

You can definitely expect a newsletter email soon ;)
