Fibre: Secunda Community

I am considering this since my F*ing ADSL has been down since 21 April and doesnt look like hellkom put high priority in restoring my service. Once off setup (by jantar) = R3500 and you need to be in line of sight of silos in Trichardt.
Anyone makes use / knows someone who does use this Jenny as ISP?

Source? I dont necessaraly see this as bad, hell I am not with MWeb for over 2 years now, and they still warn me of network outages way before Telkom and my current ISP even considers it.

Well I did ask if we could send the numbers from the official Secunda website to DFA, since I think that would be better then to go back to every one again and tell them to go to DFA to sign up there as well. At this stage people are starting to look at me like I am busy trolling them when I give them a different place to signup. If we could get some proper communication running with DFA and could point them to the data collected on the official site that could only benefit us.
 
I see 123net now has a preferred rollout plan. Used to be that the first area to reach a target was shown on top. Now we are shown below even if we reached a target first.
 
Well this thread is dead..... still no new FTTH info? Where is the good old days when people in this thread had hope?
The website has 341 signups now, but the map hasnt been updated in a while.
I also see that the 123net rep is still logging in to MBB every now and then, but they are still radio silent.

Yes, running Afrihost managed Telkom 10Meg line which in all actuallity remain stable at 8 Meg.
Online lagg becomes a real issue around 06:00 and streaming around 19:00 has to be at SD.
Having Realdebrid and news servers helps. Not wasting a single minute on torrents.
 
The silence is deafening =(.
Where is all the enthusiasm gone to? Are we gonna put up some advertisements for the Secunda website?
I am thinking of printing some pamphlets and just popping them in the gates of people in my street (while looking for some mon's). If we dont persist this useless ISP's and providers will win. And I am tired of being salty while playing against people with 5 ping!!

Just a question what is the best Internet in our area and the cost? I'm getting 4mb/s and paying around 600. The Vodacom lte in my area is not too bad but data too expensive.

Do you fall into an area for telkom LTE as theirs is cheaper.
