It should make office space in the fortunate areas more attractive to some companies.

Still waiting for basic CDMA for the office in Lyttelton, Centurion :-(

Considering adding an unlimited package to the companies internet access bundle.
 
Enterprise, shrenterprise give us a consumer service.
On the plus side I have seen a lot of orange ducting been put in all around the Linden/Cresta area so I hope they will be rolling out here soon.
I would unashamedly jump the sinking Telkom ship at the drop of a hat.

I don't care what Neotel does as long as we get decent broadband (that means both speed, service and price) at the end of the day.

Neotel has completed metro access networks in Sandton, Rosebank, Randburg, Johannesburg Central and Durban Central. Pretoria Central, Cape Town Central and Umhlanga will be completed over the next few months.

Any bets one or more of the Neotel directors live in Umhlanga? What other possible reason could there be to prioritise this place over major business centres?
This reminds me of the old homelands era when the only tarred road in the Transkei apart from the N2 was the one from Umtata down to Coffee Bay -- to serve the holiday home of Kaizer Matanzima :)
 
I live 2KM's from the airport (Or) but they are waiting for the new train line ??? wtf so no coverage for me
 
To be honest, I think they may be selling themselves short by only selling it to enterprise customers. If it was reasonably affordable, I'd like to get it for home. Imagine, sell the day bandwidth to corporates, and the night bandwidth to home owners. It's just going to lay there unused at night anyway... Rather make a little money than no money at all.

Umhlanga is a very big business district in Durban. One would equate it to Midrand on a smaller scale.

Our company already has Neotel fibre coming into the building linking us to our datacentre. Unfortunately its still very expensive for a relatively small amount of bandwidth :mad:
