FIFA 14 - PC

Okay just a few things to point out

1. The first game I played twitch yesterday I am pretty sure we were both on assisted because it wasn't possible to change controller settings and it wasn't my default settings infact it was more assisted then my default settings

2. Every tournament that I have been to or even read about lets players play on assisted and some with the option of changing controller settings

3. If it is so easy to play on assisted then I would like twitch to try and beat me on it :)

4. If someone wants to try playing with pirates while I am playing Barcelona I would like to show you how different it can be

5. How would you go about playing seasons or that FUT with manual because I am pretty sure you would keep losing over and over? how would you be able to play manager mode on legendary with manual on?

6 You cant call assisted unrealistic because you can actually see players doing that, manual would be the unrealistic one as in the manual game I think we passed the ball to each other instead of our own players over 50 times :)

It makes no sense playing in a league or tournament that uses manual because every other place I go to will be playing assisted, I can even bet that fifa tournaments at rage would have the same rules (and I'm pretty sure that is where the biggest tournaments are)

Ok lets clear this up

Okay just a few things to point out

1. The first game I played twitch yesterday I am pretty sure we were both on assisted because it wasn't possible to change controller settings and it wasn't my default settings infact it was more assisted then my default settings

I had set the game settings to semi-assisted only. I had these settings on. I wanted to change to assisted because you said you were onbut I could not revert back after you scored a quick goal and quickly found out you were somehow still on assisted. My controller settings are changed in the main menu so they stick.

2. Every tournament that I have been to or even read about lets players play on assisted and some with the option of changing controller settings.

You gotta find the big boy tournaments.

3. If it is so easy to play on assisted then I would like twitch to try and beat me on it :)

You will smash me on it- I never use it EVER because I don't like that ping pong style of play or the arcadish feel the game has on assisted. It's bad enough when one guy is on it- but both. just lol.

4. If someone wants to try playing with pirates while I am playing Barcelona I would like to show you how different it can be.

5. How would you go about playing seasons or that FUT with manual because I am pretty sure you would keep losing over and over? how would you be able to play manager mode on legendary with manual on?

On the contrary. I play on only legendary with only all manual on during a career, If I'm playing a big club, I might change my passing to semi if I'm playing at home, as it is very challenging but what good fun. The big clubs put up such great games.

6 You cant call assisted unrealistic because you can actually see players doing that, manual would be the unrealistic one as in the manual game I think we passed the ball to each other instead of our own players over 50 times :)

No, you passed the ball badly because you tried to play the same as you play on assisted and your passing % was decisivly lower than mine because you couldn't cheese with your passes, your shots were WAY off, and your crosses were skyrocketing into the stands (understandable as your not use to having no help), because manual/semi settings expose that you don't have actual skill to use- you solely rely on assistance in the form the AI. I didn't have a perfect game but it wasn't as cheese when you were on assisted- i think you realised that after your first goal in the first match we played, when you immediately realised you were still on assisted

It makes no sense playing in a league or tournament that uses manual because every other place I go to will be playing assisted, I can even bet that fifa tournaments at rage would have the same rules (and I'm pretty sure that is where the biggest tournaments are)

No doubt there would be leagues like that at rage (probably console fanboys lol), but I can vouch that there would be other league/s where NO assisted is allowed-especially for the more hardcore FIFA guys in tourneys. Each to their own. Like I said, I can't validate having a game played out for me where actual skill means absolutely nothing.

But we must come to a conclusion now cause I need to practice manual if that is what I'm gonna have to beat u guys with

I suggest that guys who play on assisted can play each other on assisted. But for the guys who play on semi or manul (very much looking forward to games with you guys), play those guys on the same level. That way it keeps it fair for each guys.

There are more guys on assisted than semi-manual. Why not match the more difficult settings of your opponent? - it makes sense. It would only be a few guys.

I really don't want to play on assisted. It's such a ****ty setting. I just don't have any fun with that ping pong play- I like to play it like a sim-realism and human skill are key. When I play a game, I want to play it- not let the CPU play it for me.

So the jist of it is that all settings be allowed, but match your opponent with the more difficult setting, because they use their own skill.

Just to add- I think in tournaments where all settings are allowed, you match your opponent with the more difficult settings. I don't see them setting up a match where a manual player would play someone who uses assisted (as the name suggests, he clearly would have a major advantage)

What if an assisted guy plays you?

There Has to be set rules imo

Same for everyone

If an assisted guy goes up against someone who uses semi or manual. The assisted guy should match the more difficult level of play and use their own damn skill to compete. It only be a few guys so makes sense to go that way to keep it fair.

Bit bs if I pay to compete in a game where a guy uses the cpu to help him beat me...makes no sense and is really not cool.

I'm not saying don't use assisted- but to keep it fair, take a down a notch and match up with the guys who don't use it. Which seems like just a few.

I will do it but I don't think it's fair. You use the word skill but skill takes practice and that's what you probably have a lot of already.

There has to be rules and the rules must apply to everyone.
If we play manual then let's go for it but there shouldn't be manual or assisted. There can only be one way to play and that's it... Some one has to draw the rules up.

Does EA not hold proper professional tournaments that we can look at those rules and the way they play?

I suppose if u use any controller settings it should be fine but if u choose to play manual then I don't think I should have to play manual as well. If the tournament rules are any controller settings then u should be able to choose what u want against who you want even if it's different

well if you play a guy on manual or semi while his opponent uses assisted, there won't be much of a game. I'll have to go with whatever the league decides, I gave forward my verdict on how to resolve by matching- just match the guy because there are less guys who use semi/manual. If you want to play on assisted against me then so be it. You just won't be beating your opponent on a fair playing field, your cpu AI will.

Like I said earlier- I can't validate competing when the cpu competes for me. Who would want that- I'm baffled?

Those are the standard online settings for the hordes lol. I know you guys are better! I feel it!

I vote for everyone go on SEMI assisted where it's available. For all other settings assisted if there is no SEMI setting. Semi is really not that hard and I think it will level the playing field.

I'd even be happy with that compared to all assisted. Honestly. There is even a difference there.

The assisted guys can still play on assisted when they play each other.

I think this rule will be fair for everyone -

If two parties agree to play semi then that is fine but only if both agree. If one player wants to play assisted then the other must play assisted so that there's no b*tching after the game.

Remember your aim here is to win the league however possible. There are no prizes for ethical conduct. ;)

I'm more than likely going to play on manual or semi. If you want to have an advantage so be it. I'm not going to cheat myself and the other playing by having the cpu help me beat him, my ethics don't allow that for that kind of gaming- my loss.

My goal is to win the league with my own skill. Everybody who is competitive should have the same morals.

Maybe the rule should be semi or manual only?

I think it would be more fair to have all the settings. Although to play semi or manual against the guys who use those settings.

That way the assisted guys can still have their fun together.

This would also keep everyone happy in the broad spectrum.

Because this way, everyone would get to play the settings they use. baring when they play the limited guys who don't want to have the cpu play the game for them. (It's about time you rely on your own skill just a little) otherwise this comp shouldn't be for money.

Twitch how long have you been playing fifa I would assume from fifa 13 or even longer and you say you only play on manual so how is it not an unfair advantage if we who haven't even been playing a week of those weird rules that no proper comp plays vs you on manual or even semi?

you would assume correctly zedz. It's not unfair as it's solely on the players skill, you saw how badly you played compared to when you have the cpu playing for you when it was down to only your skills.

It's not weird rules- just common sense for a gamer to play a game unassisted. I don't presume you play a FPS with auto-aim do you? or a RPG game that levels your character automatically? Why play FIFA on assisted and have the CPU direct all your passes, etc? There is hardly any true skill involved. You found that out quickly.

Even on your first game using it you weren't even that bad. It was just a better game because it was more even and fair- that's why it finished 0-0. We both had to rely on our OWN skills.

We would be on the same level field on manual, relying solely on a players skill.

I even complemented you and told you that you would actually up your game if you kept at it. Play assisted with the assisted guys, when you play a guy who uses manual/semi- play on a level playing field.

It's not like you have to do it every game- just when you're up against guys who use it.

You're telling me you can only be competitive if the cpu helps you along the way?? that sentence makes me gag!

Do you think i feel good when you thrash me?

How do you feel about beating a player using manual while you use assisted? Do you feel it was fair?

Let's all play for real money and have the CPU help us get it...lol????

You play only on manual?

Maybe the rule should be semi or manual only?

That's fine if everyone agrees. Like I said, I have played both semi and assisted in friendly tournaments but that rule is harsh on guys who only play assisted. I could care less about ethics, I just care about having a level playing field.
