In the grand scheme of things I really don't give a damn about this mediocre player having his ban rescinded. The USA doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of winning the WC. What angers me is this country that already thinks rules don't apply to them politically wants to now impose themselves on sport. **** the USA.

He is the top goal scorer for the US and is the reason they have won so many of their games.

Basically the US don't have much of a chance without him.

People talking about the US being helped along the way should go rewatch Korea's run in 2002 and the decisions they got when knocking out powerhouses like Italy, Portugal and Spain.

People can no longer pretend and ignore the obvious. The fact that it had to take the involvement of the orange one for the average fan to throw their hands up shows how ignorant they have been to who and what FIFA is all about.

Exactly this. But the casuals are always ignorant. All the excitement is fun. They really tried to help Mexico aswell.
Even in 2010 we had a lot of help, but were just to bad at soccer. The host gets a bit of favouritism.

Belgium is a good team. The US still need to win. And complaining about having to play against the best USA side, when the USA are by far the underdogs is disgusting.

I would definitely be supporting the USA.

And people complaining about this definitely didn't watch AFCON. That was just straight up cheating.

Corruption and TDS out of the way, this morning's game was the most mental one so far. Was debating whether or not I was actually going to stay up for it because I'd been at Metallica (again) all day, and only got local after midnight. Saw all the pubs we drove past totally packed with fans (UK government extended licences to 5AM). Our Uber driver informed us that they'd moved the kick off by an hour because of the weather (when they'd initially said they'd considered moving it forward to 7PM to avoid it). Anyway, got home, showered, and figured I'd raw dog it. I'd booked the Monday off because of the concert, so could sleep in.

Wow, glad I did! Two quick first half goals, and I thought England were coasting. Altitude? More like Alti-Jude. Then the hosts pulled one back to round off a crazy first half. Second half was like "hold my beer": England got a red, scored a penalty 6mins later, only for Mexico to score one, too. What followed was the most haram 31 minutes of football I think I've ever seen. Arteta would've been proud.
