File sharing system via satellite

Hi folks,

I remember around the late 2000's, there was a way for people to connect in Johannesburg and Pretoria by having a small satellite dish on their roof, and some software on the computer. It was a means of sharing files with other people even kilometers away. It was quite popular.

Cannot remember what it was called. Is it still in use ?

my experience van die PTAWUG
1. Tans is daar groot issues met die netwerk, niks werk nie. Pings en tracerts na die verskillende trackers en ander servers werk nie. Jy kry ping replies van 3000ms+
2. Daar is HS goto guys wat op n power trip is soos RomeOS wat net maak soos hy wil en alles op sy highsite (HS) verander.
3. Sarkasme is aan die orde van die dag op die IRC channel
4. Daar was nog geen games gespeel op die PTAWUG in die laaste 3 weke agv die netwerk issues.
5. Daar is sprake van IP renumbering en upgrades na 802.11n maar niks word gedeel met die ander wuggers as jy nie n admin is...
