Finally 10mbps uncapped internet and nothing to do?!

Greetings All.

I recently moved from a 1mbps Mweb account used for downloading and a 20GB Capped 10mbps account to the new Telkom Uncapped 10mbps.

I use mostly couchpotato, Sickbeard and SAB and am currently up to date with most of my downloads with the exception of new additions etc.

Currently I am happy with what I am downloading and watching and so not much more I can do there.

I am playing around with the idea of streaming foreign content, not sure if the $7.95 Netflix Sub + $5 UnoTelly Sub would make it entirely worth it, but I will still investigate that avenue.

Furthermore I work remotely in the evenings, sync my phones to the internet, backup my docs etc and then some XBOX Gaming and Youtube, etc, all the usual home internet utilisations.

Now call me spoiled but I am not really pushing this connection.

I somehow feel like it is supposed to do something else, not quite sure if I wanna put internet streaming photo frames in all my rooms but I am sure anyone reading this can understand my dilemma.

As far as I know there is hardly local streaming content available and most of the online services typically don't just play like a TV-Channel thus requiring some intervention for the video stream to keep going.

Does anyone have any ideas to put my out of my misery? And no, downloading the entire internet and storing it makes absolutely no sense, I have no intention of watch Alf in 2045 when I retire.. :-)

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
 
Open up your Wifi to the neighborhood? :)

Sheeesh, I wish I had any form of ADSL.. Just keep paying what you pay with the (semi) low utilization - you'll keep the average use down and hopefully show all the ISPs how successful uncapped ADSL is so that they lower fees across the board. ;)
 
Yeah, so I decided to just let the 10mbps uncapped "be there"

Like the top speed on my bike - 265km/h if I need it, but 60 - 120 for normal use... :-)
 
Find a board that provided links to bluray movies and series. Spartacus season 3 is out in the US, download the entire 24 series....so much to do with a 10meg line

Dude you are so lucky, I would kill to get 10 mb/s, I'd even settle for 2 mb/s. Maximum speed in my area is 1 meg :( , before the upgrades it was 386 :/

Things to do with 10meg:

1. Redownload all your movies in 1080p HD (If you don't have an account at NZBSA you're missing out)
2. Ask your friends if they want any series or movies
3. Ask your neighbors if they want any series or movies
4. Wait for a steam sale and download the entire internet
5. PROFIT !?!??
 
As mentioned already, just because you have (are paying for) a 10Mb connection, doesn't imply that you should have to max it out 24/7 in order to get your money's worth. If you're the sort of person who will sit for hours and hours on end just to ensure that you do, then congratulations for living your life under the bondage of your own mind -- you're actually just costing yourself more. There's nothing more convenient than a fast internet connection when you need it, but if everyone exploits it to the fullest all the time, it will only hamper the chance of everyone else being able to experience the convenience of speed as well, because there's no such thing as a free lunch. Think about your fellow man - sharing is caring, so get over yourself and the lies the that a greedy system has forced into you

Free Netflix? I want, gimme gimme gimme....

BTW: customised by Sickbeard to start pulling 1080p, 720p no more! 3.8GB per ep.
 
Keeper -> Navi-X is working quite nicely, can stream 1080p with about 5,8mbps line utilisation. Picture is great, just fiddling with my "out of memory" issue on the caching on XBMC but otherwise works great!

I wish I could get bored.

Been around since 2400bps modems and Rob's BBS List, I was still a beta test for SAIX/TELKOM's dialup internet on my 28.8kbps Microcom Modem.

Finally getting half decent ( at the time ) Neoflex lite for the wife when she was unemployed a few years back, then moving up to the Neoflex Router and finally 4mbps, and ofcourse now 10mbps and uncapped.

Sadly enough I now have the internet I allways wanted, speeds are decent and at a fixed monthly cost.

The restrictions of the cap now having been removed and Telkom's uncapped product currently exceeding my wildest expectations at a price which I have gradually over the years increased to the point where the final leap to uncapped was not a hard pill to swallow.

So here I am and I am hoping the make the most of it!
