No... logic and law dictates that you would be paid out roughly book value... less condition issues etc etc...

if you say so

so you want to take the bet that I wasn't paid out 84k for damages then and paid out "book value" instead?

I have a feeling Splinter wants to argue over that too

So if you were paid out 84k for damages, what makes up the remainder of the 95+k?

the only problem is that I advertised the car for 95k, and got a lot more than that

Let's get the lawyers to sort it out.

Remember it's 84k in damages and you are saying it's untrue.

So I must just prove I received 84k in damages?

I thought you originally said you received more than you advertised the car for, and you advertised for R95k, now that has changed? It's really difficult to keep track of a story that keeps changing.

Technically he did. According to his old thread he received 84k in damages and 30k for the wreck and he kept the gearbox.

Do we know what the damages were for? Would he have received that R84k if he drove a Fiat Uno?

I asked for your lawyers details so we can setup trust accounts etc to hold the money whilst the bet is ongoing... You have been decidedly silent on that front...

I think the bet needs to be agreed to on now

and to make it simple I propose this

I claim that I received 84k from the insurance for damages resulting from their client's car colliding with my turbo superboss.

The issue is whether that happened or not.

so if you agree to that we can move forward with placing the bets so to speak

uhmmmm, what has book value got to do with anything, I'm entitled to the replacement value of the vehicle if they wish to write it off...

the problem is, even if I show the insurance letter payout, that won't be believed, with more and more accusations and requests for evidence

and yet it is expected of me to provide evidence

You mean a settlement letter which could be for ANY vehicle as it doesn't state the vehicle on the settlement iirc.

yeah I had several accidents on the 6th December 2014 with several vehicles, I'm that bad at street racing

but the claim number can be followed up on, and I'm sure we can go find the case number of the accident as well

...says the guy who has me on ignore

this is exactly the point about evidence, I can provide it, but people still won't believe

The motoring section sure needs more of this.

Although actually, not sure I could handle it - already lost 20 minutes this morning going through this thread.

nope, I give you the claim number and show you the pic I have, that's it

unless you want to sign non disclosure agreement, and also you are not to return to this forum ever again, same applies to me if I lose the bet

I know someone at Miway. Iirc it was a Miway claim. I can definitely get the specifics if I have the claim number.

Nobody needs more of saturnz talking schit. Well, sometimes, but just a bit less. LOL

No,

The bet is multi-faceted.

Did you initially get a low offer from the insurance company (proof needed for this), did you consult lawyers in relation to this (proof needed), did you write a letter to the insurance company (proof needed, and corroboration from receiving insurance company), on the basis of this letter did they increase the offer to R84k (proof needed from the insurance company plus your letter), was the car a write off according to the insurance company, if so why did they not take possession of the wreck (explanation from the insurance company on this front is required), did you then sell this wreck on for your claimed R30k (again proof needed from the eventual buyer)

Once you can fulfill those criteria we will begin to entertain your bet.

so you going with that as a fact that it was a Miway claim, is that how I understand it?

so Splinter is convinced its a RAF claim, and another one thinks its a Miway claim

anyone else want to try?

yeah you are not going to be happy with the proof I provide, the claim number is sort of sufficient to cover most of those things

I don't know how you expect the insurance company to provide a representation confirming receipt of said letter, that's going to be an easy one to get through a call center.

Unfortunately my own correspondence I lost with an email spam, but I still have the claim number and a pic.

No, you want to supply a letter stating a settlement but it does not show which car was settled. But a simple claim number can be verified by someone I know at MiWay. I recall it being MiWay not 100% sure though.

Surely that's up to him to decide?

Stop jumping around the issue here. I saw the letter you're referring too a while ago. I can't recall who the insurer was. But I am willing to find the details of the claim (no matter which insurance company it was) and give the feedback accordingly. You have no reason to hide the facts other than being deceitful and/or lying.
