The faster they get rid of the General, the faster things can start to move forward in the communications industry of South Africa.
Yikes, that's not a very accurate statement from Natasha Michael on so many levels.
Just stick to the facts, Michael: South Africa chose DVB-T, industry have been gearing up for a DVB-T DTT launch and all our broadcasters are pretty much ready to go with DVB-T right now. From the information currently at hand, that's the bottom line.
According to the DA there are six fundamental problems facing the Department:
1. The financial and management woes of the SABC
2. The poor management of Sentech
3. The various scandals concerning the minister himself
4. The Department’s poor annual report
5. The Minister’s deteriorating relationship with his former DG
6. Failure to fulfil the Department’s core mandate
The Democratic Alliance is at its tantrums again. I wonder when they will toe the line, go out there and do something better for the people...something better such as defining and crafting future policies that would better the lives of people in this country. To the DA officials especially Natasha Michael (DA’s Shadow Minister of Communication), you must be informing the public about what your party has planned in improving its public image after the failed open-air toilets debacle that have come back to haunt you for the past two months now. I see through the lines Natasha, attacking the current minister of communication without solid proofs but ‘hearsays’ won’t give you his position (which I know you so envy). It will take more than your petty criticisms to remove him from his position. Why don’t you ever praise him for the achievements he’s made for the past one year he’s been in office? Come on, give the man a chance and acknowledge his efforts to improve on the communication lot of the country.
The DA should not only act irresponsibly by stating ‘facts’ that are not substantiated, but should begin to criticise constructively. We need proposals and not witch-hunting as the DA is doing right now. So Michaels, these attack tactics won’t take you anywhere. Rather go back to the drawing board and see what you can do for the people.
DA’s Natasha Michael have stated that “Sentech has been running at a loss for so many years now...” It stands to reason that DoC,s current minister is not solely responsible for the present state of affairs in some of these state-owned enterprises. Look no further than the able manner in which Sentech’s new chairman Quraysh Patel is handling the Sentech’s Screamer deal. A turnabout is glaringly imminent but what is DA’s own contributions in all these? Instead of being the pied piper, let the DA propose a turn-around strategy. We are tired of reading criticisms every day about the Minister of Communication. We need proposals from the DA on how ICT could be taken to the grassroots, how they will participate in sensitising the public about the TV digital switch etc.
@ EtienneK.
I'm not even gonna try and defend the paragraph issue, Is it about the points advanced in the write-up or the style? Don't start something you can't even end. If it's the diction you can't understand, just stay quiet man!!! I don't have time for pessimistic people on this planet called earth!! Do yourself some good and stay away from my comments. People with brains will read through the lines and make sense out of it and not shallowly as you probably did!

The DA together with the media has not given the minister a chance to do his job properly with their constant negative reviews and attacks. The minister has been in office for just over a year and within that time is expected to fix all the wrongs that were made years before he came into office overnight. Give the man a break!
Dude, he has had more than year now and he has done nothing but demand (cars and homes). He is a member of the ANC and they generally are not interested to work, they just want.Verash said:The DA together with the media has not given the minister a chance to do his job properly with their constant negative reviews and attacks
