Firefly is back

firefly was okay I guess, Stargate was a lot better, Lost was a scam at least in its final seasons (that never aired locally)
Good sci fi is a rarity these days, I mean I did enjoy starfleet academy somewhat even if I dont consider myself a trekkie at all.

I mean if you really want to talk old school anybody remember farscape? really makes me seem like a grandpa these days.
so if firefly is coming back even in this tiny way, maybe its a harbringer for things to come?

Criminal to mention farscape and not mention Andromeda and Babylon 5.......will be laying a complaint with the nerd police...:P

I surrender to the nerd police, as those shows even today are good,
what I can never quite work out if there are many other worthwhile franchises to bring back, I mean we mentioned a few huge ones from the 90's early '00's

why specifically Firefly?'

I mean does its fanbase have nothing else to do but hide in moms basement sending emails to Movie studios?
are you saying the rest of us eventually left moms basement and touched some grass.

Rather the normie with cartoons than the brony weeb tbh
Yeah you still working on the assumptions from the 90's that only weebs watch anime, and you would be totally wrong, anime is way way more mainstream that the niche it use to be, with the rise of streaming platforms, anime is no longer a niche, there isn't a major streaming platform that doesn't have a catalog of anime, with a few even funding original or manga/light novel based productions. Subs use to be the only way to enjoy anime, these only a small handful is sub only, with the popular ones, getting same day dubs or delayed by a week or two.

Even k-dramas has gained tremendous support outside of korea.

Personally I rarely consume western media these days, only if something catches my eye. The huge problem, production studios for both movies and series, have dwindled from 100's to a handful. Fox is no more, Warner brothers is in a bidding war. There just isn't originality in western media anymore, hero fatigue is real, I don't care what DC or marvel series or movies is coming out had my fill.

Disney is milking their acquired studios and franchises for all that they are worth and inserting the bullshyte gender pronouns into everything.

If you want to be a normie being spoon fed politically correct gender inclusive bulldust, that is entirely your choice, but don't call me a weeb for choosing asian media that at least don't give a flying fck about being either politically correct or care about your pronouns. A black little mermaid and snow white, yeah that went down well didn't it......

Queen of Tears had over 1 billion views globally you can say what you want I rather be a weeb than a spoon fed hive mind.......

He said he enjoyed Star Fleet academy, meaning that his credentials are already revoked.

Lol I didn't even know that existed, pretty much tells you all you need to know, how much I care about western media these days. The last startrek anything that I watched was discovery and that was only a few episode before giving up on that farce.

it gave me some withdrawal ended up binging star trek enterprise again, and then the original movies. Shatner era is a bit gringe now, Patrick Stewart era somewhat aged a lot better...

The Gene Roddenberry era is dead long live the Gene Roddenberry era........

Not season 1 of TNG, oh my that is awful, but generally that era of ST was to skip the first season. DS9, Voyager and TNG. Enterprise was skip the first two :-)

Voyager was hit and miss for me, janeway annoyed me, one female drama after another. Enterprise focused on the world building a bit more than the problem/quest of the day. It was like janeway was on menopause ready to take the whole galaxy with her at any given moment.

Nice description of Janeway, she's also technically the captain who's killed her crew multiple times. But plot magic brings them back.

Yeah lol

My favorite enterprise episodes was mirror darkly in season 4..... Never got into DS 9, wasn't my cup of tea, enterprise was the better of the 3 for me, T'pol (Jolene blalock) didn't hurt it either.

T'pol was a draw :-). DS9 is way better and deeper than the others of that 90s era, how many other captains punched Q? Had to try keep a space station running with little resources from the Federation? It's rough, it's ragged feels like it's Star Trek new frontier.

Thank goodness it is animated. They all have aged a 100 years. There is no need to cause severe trauma so many years later of a series that ended well. Let the good memories last while they do a cash grab.

That is some next level wall of text. I can't even imagine getting that triggered if someone had to say to me "I hate Star Wars/LotR/Dungeons & Dragons"

Calling it kids shows or cartoons, clearly hasn't watched something like nana as an example, there are quite a few adult "cartoons", so yeah it doesn't trigger, it pisses me off, when someone is dismissive of something, they know very little off or care to know about.

Secondly it is a forum, not twitter, if you want short twitter like comebacks, I will check my girlfriends back.....

But please go on support the same rehash, 5th reboot, sequel, but this time with a trans gender black dude name bubba.

You’re also completely free not to read what I wrote, And I’m equally free to drop your bargain-bin trolling straight into Ignoreville.
