Firefox 3.0.5 released!

Nah, Opera for me.

I hope you are running Opera 9.63!

Opera pushed out an update to its popular web browser on Tuesday that fixes vulnerabilities it described as "extremely severe".

The update fixes seven security bugs, some of which were previously known. Version 9.63 of the browser addresses separate code injection risks stemming from flaws in HTML parsing and text inputing, respectively. A critical bug with similar arbitrary code injection risks involving the handling of long host names in files has also been patched.

The latest version of the software also lances a cross-site scripting flaw, involving XSLT templates, as well as bugs in feed preview.

More details of these various fixes can be found on Opera Software's website here (http://www.opera.com/docs/changelogs/windows/963). That advisory covers Windows but other versions of the browser running on Mac and Linux also need updating against the similar cross-platform risks.

An advisory (http://secunia.com/advisories/32752) from Secunia clarifies that not all these bugs are brand new with one, at least, known about since last month.

Version 9.63 of the browser was pushed out to via the software built-in update mechanism on Tuesday. ®

Nah, Opera for me.

Opera has had V4 Mini out for close to a year and a half now. They still haven't fixed the rendering issue (where everything is stuffed on display) for my Nokia 6230i. I'd stick with FF to be honest, at least they attempt to fix bugs.

I'm running Opera 9.60 - 10 is out, beta or something.

I dont have probs with Mini, tera, V4.2 is available.

I'll try it on my phone now. Don't think I'm lying if I come back and say it's still stuffed :p

It's still stuffed  Go figure

Great!!! It's about damn time.

I've been waiting for so long for a new version of FF just to say ... No thanks, I'll not be climbing onto the band-wagon.

A new version of FF was released less than a few weeks ago

These are just tiny updates for security or stability patches. I'd count FF 3.1 as a new version.

That I understand ;) FF3 was the major update since 2 and 2 from 1, so yes, I do have that understanding. If you however read what these "tiny" updates contain, you'd be quite surprised. They fix a whole lot of issues.

+1. Seems stable so far. And what's great about FF is that with the right add-ons installed you don't EVER need IE :D

I've been running Opera 9.62 and Opera 10 Alpha 1on Linux. They don't compare to FF. I have actively tried to use Opera exclusively but constantly find I have to go back to FF.

3.1b2 being installed as we speak
