Firefox and vBullitin quotes

I see firefox is no longer a script, but rather a binary. Have you tried running from the command line to see what's broken?

According to the script, run-mozilla.sh, the error you're getting should occur if firefox-bin is not executable.

Yeah that's what it said, but it's definitely marked as executable.
Pretty much threw in the tower on this one, doing an upgrade to beta (probably nothing to lose). :)

Just as a matter of interest (academic now that you've gone to 12.04), did you do all the upgrades on 11.10? I couldn't install the nvidia drivers until I upgraded.

This is what I did since I installed 11.10:

Code:
11.10 (blank)
Upgrade + nvidia drivers
Added one or two things

Upgrade to 12.04beta
Fix grub2

After this, nvidia (xinerama) worked fine.

Why are some of you running Firefox as root?

You need to run it as root when you upgrade (if you've installed in /opt), otherwise run as you.

or you could just do a chown on /opt/firefox (assuming that's where you installed it). eg chown milomak:milomak -R /opt/firefox
