Mine is sitting at around 100 megs. Havent had your problem in FF3 so far.

With just this page open and only 2 extra plugins (adblock/flashblocker) my private bytes (IE. real size) is: 30MB and Virtual Size is: 92MB

300MB is a bit high me thinks...

Btw. "Memory Optimizers" are a waste of time, you'll see no gain and the one I tested only caused more page faults (meaning it did more damage than good). And with low amounts of memory it'll probably just cause thrashing (google for term).

I've noticed that in FF3, if you load up the program MIG33 (web version) and have multiple chat rooms open, the PC struggles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed it with FF2 and Google Group Chat (it's web based only) also, my CPU usage will shoot up to 100% if 5+ people are typing at the same time, but since it's a Flash application I rather think flash is to blame. Are you sure MIG33 isn't a flash application also?

My Firefox with 20+ add-ons, and 7 tabs open is using 173 Mb. No problems.

Adie, what is your cache setting set on at the moment, how much MB?
My usage was 500+MB with 30+ tabs open, but cache was set on 512. I set it back to 256, now usage is running at about <300MB. Coincidence maybe?
