Fireworks spark fireworks

Might be wrong on this, but I think there was a specified time allowed for fireworks to be set off, 18:00-20:30 IIRC.

There is but there is also a limit on the strength ie: noise of the fireworks. I bet nigh on 100% don't mind items like showers or fountains. Its the ICBM's and Indian Kings ( if those still exist ) that cause the problem.

Yes, this is true.

I remember the flyer posted here on MyBB stating in bold that "big bangs" are not allowed. Those are illegal AFAIK.

There are limits to the nature of the fireworks, and they're not allowed near animals etc. regardless of time...

A member of the Facebook group suggested petrol bombing the homes of people letting off fireworks on the night of Diwali.

Said member is apparrently also a student at UKZN.

if they hadn't been breaking municipal by-laws by letting off fireworks in a residential area, then this would never have happened?
there were plenty of fireworks displays taking place in various areas over that period, both for guy fawkes and for diwali too.

one wonders why the Roopnarains and Mr Naidoo feel so entitled that they can flout by-laws and give no consideration to their neighbours, or neighbours pets... and then run to the newspaper claiming "Racism Racism Racism"...

They were called racist names and assaulted. Breaking one law by breaking another law doesn't make it right

Unless there are specific db rating on the actual sound and noise its impossible to say whats a loud bang VS a normal bang.

They laid a criminal charge against the man on the night of Diwali but now intend laying further charges against members of the Durban North Neighbours Facebook group after their home address – along with those of other Hindus – was published for letting off fireworks.

I wonder if they have the home addresses of other religions as well.

The requested sense was not found

Did you mean?:

> Enforcing one law by breaking another law doesn't make it right
> Zuma is an idiot
> ANC voters are retards
> #feesmustfall

I'll admit, trying to read what I typed now doesn't even make sense to me :D

You get what I meant...

2 wrongs don't make a right.

That sounds better :p

Note: "that c*** are taking over La Lucia" in the article.

Pretty normal behavior for some people. Indians in those areas are normally "told" to burn fireworks elsewhere. Would love someone to shoot a paint ball at me. I need to vent.

Pfft n00bs, everyone knows that if you wanna fire off some serious hardware you go to your local township.

It's like a bloody warzone come new year's eve.

Except when teh blacks come after the whites, right?

What do whites do that's noisy across the hood? (beyond loud doef doef music at times but that can be any race)

Well, we had the one white neighbour guy tear up and down the road at 11pm on a Saturday night on a SUPER loud motorcycle once (2011 I think), could easily hear him from a 1km away, even in this built up area. But all us neighbours came out and had a nice shouting match with him and he never dared do it again, in fact he is now super quiet.
