Fitch stops rating SA

The Constitution says no. We'll have to see how this stands up though.

Thats my point, Zuma will simply ignore the constitution since he would have undermined all the institutions which give the constitution any bite.

I am not...don't try and accuse me of things you know nothing about, k?

I said: "We'll have to see how this stands up though" if you read a bit further.

You'll have to excuse me. I am understandably bitter about the situation.

The argument that a lot of ANC voters give for voting ANC is that Zuma is a bad man but they vote for the party and not the man.

Then you look at the way the entire ANC seems to be geared around defending the slimeball and it is obvious that the entire organization can be corrupted from within by a few people at the top.

It's the major flaw with proportional representation IMHO. You cannot vote for a person to represent you, you can only vote for a party - and that party can put whoever the fsck they like into power.

Indeed.

If there were any people with morals and decency left do you think the entire party would be protecting Zuma the way they have been? After seeing Zuma and his friends get away with plundering the country with no consequences do you really think there is any incentive for his succesor to do anything else?

It's exactly what Mugabe did, that's why even with Bob having one foot in the grave , Zim is still operating as if he is actually making any decisions....when he eventually kick the bucket, nothing will change without the entire zim cabinet being overthrown/shot .

Fitch Southern Africa does not issue our overall national rating. That is done by the international parent company.

The local branch issues ratings for individual companies on contract. It seems like business has been slow on that front so they are closing shop.

The title of the article is totally misleading (but we are starting to get used to that).

Yep, my guess too. Plus the R 3.2m annual levy when business is not doing well is too heavy. When I checked the registered rating agencies, Moodys has a local branch but S&P is based in the UK, so maybe Fitch will just re-register using the UK (or whatever EMEA office SA reported into) IMO

Anything with half a brain would be better than this twat.

The constitution in SA says many things which are not upheld...

ah so this isn't about the sovereign rating, but only company level? That does indeed change things & to some extent makes this non-news.

Similar views where expressed about Mbeki. And you got...Zuma

Who expressed such views on Mbeki. Mbeki set up the scorpions and politicians actually feared being corrupt with them about - too bad he ****ed it up turning them into a political tool to punish dis-loyalists.
