Hi Guys, I am looking at getting a fitness tracker since I have recently found out that discovery gives R750 towards a fitness device.

First Q

you take the fitbit/jawbone whatever to the over the counter (self prescription) desk, and give it to them with your card. just note it is a bit deceiving, they take it from your savings. and they will actually pay for it outright from your savings if there is sufficient.

i like my jawbone for its size, although i am getting very lazy to keep it synced or use the app for food logging. the fitbit charge hr my GF has and it is nice for the time, but too bulky.

You buy with your discovery card and they take it off your savings when you buy it.

I have an Up Jawbone which I wear in my pocket.
The companion app is installed on my phone which counts steps, sleep activity, gps, etc.

I would rather go Jawbone that Fitbit.
Have used both and the Jawbone just seems better and more accurate

between my jawbone and my gfs fitbit mine seems more accurate regards to steps, hers also continually shows she climbed stairs. on sleep they are about on par.

The silent alarm and auto sleep? work well? easy to use? never turns of by mistake?

Accuracy is moot on these devices, the Fitbit Charge thinks a 50km motorbike ride equals around 3000 steps.

Then your device is buggered.
My device only registers steps.
It makes no difference where I drive or if I'm cycling, it only registers my steps.

Offroad Trail?

Like I said, it makes no difference.
Wherever I go it only registers steps.

As an example, I play hockey and am a goal keeper.
It only registers my step activity despite me moving a lot in the same position.
It seems to require more lateral movement.
I move within a goal box for 2 hours and it doesn't register that many steps.
The same lets say if I dj, I move around a lot on the same spot so it doesn't register as much as when I move around more.
