Does anyone offer an ADSL service with fixed IP's and a cap?

I'm needing a fixed IP solution and all my searching has led me to one thing: Resellers of IS's uncapped ADSL product.

While I can accept that I am going to be charged a premium for a fixed IP product - why is it that its only available in uncapped??

That way, the can charge you the most for it, milk you dry, and run to the bank every month while getting the most possible from you in regards to your hard earned cash.

i.e. there's no reason why it's like that. some dude decided that's the way it's going to be, and its the end of the story...

Set you modem/router in bridged mode, create dial-up type connections using route sentry, and set your IP to a fixed value...

REALLY???

If it was that easy - do you really think they would be charging R1500 for the service???

Yes... what fixed value? Which you get where?

There's this thing called ICANN, I think they may get shirty if you use just any old no you just dreamed up...

You can always use a service like DynDNS with your dynamic IP.
Probably should have mentioned this in the first post... to prempt this...

I use DynDNS for certain things already and it works great - but there are some things that simply cannot work on a dynamic IP no matter which way you slice it...

I need a fixed IP - not just a fixed DNS address :D
