Never had to supply an invoice for dell. I guess if you phone them and ask stupid questions they will tell you to transfer the ownership

Not the case now. Had one of our Dell machine's motherboards replaced last week, we had to prove its our machine ie we are the original purchaserSince when does Dell require a warranty to be transferred?
I have in the past been asked by them which company I was from when requesting warranty on a laptop but I just told them honestly I had bought it secondhand and that I didn't know which company was the original purchaser. They seemed fine with that answer and proceeded to send a technician to swop out the motherboard without further ado.

Nobody said you have to supply an invoice for Delland maybe you think it's stupid to call them after spending R20000 to ensure your warranty is valid but for the rest of us it's a sensible thing to do...
