Flashing "ghost" icon

The last few days there is some flashing icon appearing in my taskbar of my laptop. It flashes very quick about every minute or 2 and it looks like a "ghost" I cannot really see what it is. What might be causing this ??? I've tried to click on it when it appears but it is too fast.

Hi, I use this great little freeware programme called "Whats my computer doing". Can you guess what it does?

Bit difficult to recognise it by your description. If you click on the hidden icons button which looks like a triangle at the bottom right of the task bar. Have a look and see if the icon is there.
