I love the xbox, but my flat mate bought a PS3 which I'm enjoying (still hate the controller though), but my point is the PS3 was A LOT easier to mod, he did it himself in like 5 minutes, MULTIMAN FTW!

the only down side is that multiman only works with firmware 3.55, so you're pretty screwed if you want to play any of the new games that require latest firmware updates (like we are at the moment)

Modding a PS3 isn't really worth it IMO. The mod becomes redundant fairly quickly with all the updates to the system so you're always waiting to play the latest games, the downloads tend to be very large for the games and there is no way that I know of to play online. Personally I wouldn't mod either machine. Online play is where you end up spending 90% of your time and getting a ban is not worth it. Also if you shop around you get most games after the initial rush for very competitive prices both new and second hand.

Well you could actually BUY your games. Then you can play them on release day.

Probably why I advised him not to mod either machine if you read my post again. If you don't mod your machine how else do you get your games other then buying them?
