None of this has anything to do with whether the Flat Earth Society is an elaborate hoax. Of course the first stop is to ensure the Wikipedia entry conforms - it' harmless fun, and it does make a point. Read up Alan Sokal's delicious hoax. Other than knowing some of the FES members and writers directly, there's really no way of knowing for sure just how much they chuckle.
