flickering LCD

@Wasp, I can't seem to find the transaction in my online banking.

Anyone suggest somewhere to have it repaired or get a new TV?

Also a friend said it sounds like an earthing problem, possible?

Biscuit you dont have to get angry! Your Hyudai is still crap though bwhahahaha

To be honest dude, I'm not so sure that it will be financially viable to repair.

Getting parts for the Telefunken will be very difficult as well.

You can get a new 32inch LG or Sammy for ~R3000 on special.

Depends what you will be using it for.

If mainly for SD and sport and stuff, plasma is great bang-for-buck. They are great for handling fast motion and have nice deep blacks.
Problems with plasma's is that they consume more electricity and are prone to burn-in and image retention if you are not careful.

LCD's are brighter, but are worse for motion and SD to a degree, although a good LCD will handle SD not too badly. LCD's with 100hz handle motion very well but are more expensive.

I have a Sony EX400, and I am quite happy with it.

You should start a new thread if you want advice though. Postman will recommend the Samsung ps450plasma to you :D

Plasma: Cheaper for a bigger screen, handles SD TV/content better, handles sport/motion better, lower input lag and response time improves gaming

LCD: Better for connecting to a PC to do work on (static images)

Yeah mainly for SD viewing, DSTV, movies off DVD player, looking to get a media player as well, the odd Wii game and in terms of sport maybe some soccer.

Plasma, no brainer.

42" for R4,999.

You won't get any burn-in and power consumption is hardly that much more than LCD.

Hell, I don't even get image retention on my 42" plasma.

Then I'd go for plasma, the Samsung ps450 will be your best bang for buck :)

Unless you absolutely NEED full HD
