Flight Simulator 2020

i tried the game again last night
set everything to lowest quality and the menu looks awesome and fast
when i start the game im getting less than 10 fps on my 4th gen i3 with 4gb ram on 240gb ssd with 1050Ti 4gb card
oh well, might as well uninstall the game and wait for a forumite to PIF an old i5 board and CPU

The CPU really is critical.

I had a 4th gen i5, 16Gb of ram and the game was stuttery and jerky.
Moved to a Ryzen5, 32 GB of ram and it's so much better. I can even play at ultra settings, though high-end is more responsive (RX570)

many thanx for that, im still new into the PC side as i have been on MAC for over 10 years now. All other games on the 1050Ti are super smooth in Ultra settings (games are a coupla years old) and so i thought when i got the 1050Ti that i was convinced the GPU now does ALL the work in games. I was very wrong last night.
Will start saving

Hi All,

Not sure if you will be interested to add it to your game, but I have added a few scenery objects to my game.

I'm a total n00b in creating this so please excuse the roughness at this stage.

I noticed that the FNB PortSide building is missing in Cape Town so I thought I'll try and add it to the game. I also created the "better looking" (I hope) top cable car house for table Mountain and on request I added a better version of The Moses Mabhida Stadium for Durban.

See the download links below. - Download and extract into your community folder and if done correctly you should see these versions appear in your game.

I plan to do some more so if interested I'll share them here.
Sorry. I fixed the link for the Table Moutain Cable house. The previous one was incorrect.

Very nice, are you using the google 3d objects? Saw a video on how to do it.

gonna try that later
Reporting back - it works well but takes a bit of getting used to! :D

As an aside, I also managed to do this.
Don't like the bezel in the middle, but hey I just told myself I was an F1 driver and it was the halo....

Hi

Yes that is what I use. I think we saw the same video lol.. Thought to myself it doesn't look that difficult and gave it a try.

Since did Newlands Rugby Stadium as well, which looks 100 times better than the auto generated one. Still busy with the cricket one. Hopefully will get that done later today.

Wow Hunted, those are looking great.

Could be good to bundle them all together into one 'Cape Town Landmarks' pack and then distributing that pack.

Perhaps through the MSFS Addons portal?

And maybe then you can just keep adding extra buildings to the pack, and instead of users downloading separate files for each part, it's just 1 pack update.

And then maybe at some point you can monetize it too.

Either way, thanks for contributing to the FS community.

Damn i wish i had the hardware to play this game
Busy downloading X-Plane 11 and will give that a go, 55 of 63gb downloaded

I use XP11 and it's great. Once you're comfortable with the sim , look up 'Orthophoto' scenery when you're ready to improve the scenery to sattelite imagery.

Also remember to tick the option in XP's graphics settings to enable 'Vulcan' or 'Metal' rendering, to improve the performance. But this discussion should probably be in a different thread :)

Loving the X Plane 11 in full ultra graphics settings and highly recommend it to anyone that cant run MS2020 Flight Sim
This rocks with the old Logitech Force 3D Pro Joystick, my nerves are shot flying and finishing flight school in the Cessna after 3 beers

Busy downloading the Global Scenery pack now, 50GB, so i'll carry on tomorrow

Hi,

Thanks. Sharing is Caring....

Yeah I think I might combine them in one CPT pack at some time.. It will be better.

Haven't checked it out yet, but found a link in the MSFS forum to a freeware Miegs Field add-on.
For all those old-school flight simmers out there, enjoy the nostalgia overload:

You need a proper Quad Core CPU or higher. My Sandy Bridge 2nd Gen Core i5 with a 1050ti runs the game at medium, 1080p with anti aliasing.

It's not 2015 anymore.

You need a recent 8th gen chip 6 core or later. A quad core won't cut it...

A 1060 GPU as minimum. I get 30fps at medium, so not sure how you get such high frame rates with such old hardware.
