Hi guys. I’ve been with Absa using a Premium Banking account for a few years now. My rewards are absolutely useless and I’m wanting to switch to FNB.

My question is, what’s the difference between a Premier Fusion account and a Premier Cheque + Credit card? Are there any benefits with either one?

The fusion account seems good but I have no idea how this works. My main aim would be to get ebucks with the account. Any advice will be appreciated.

Take the Fusion account + Credit card if you want to maximise your eBucks.

This. Fusion AND a credit card. R219 per month. Burn the Fusion card and use the credit card.

Hold up I'm paying R219 plus R69.00 as a credit fee. Am I doing something wrong?

Are you using the Fusion's credit facility? That has a fee attached if you use it.

If you have the Fusion card, AND a credit card (free as part of your Fusion facility), there's no credit fee for using the limit on the credit card.

Ahh yes correct. I remember there being awarded points in the past for this.

So you're using the fusion as a regular cheque with overdraft in other words? what is the benefit of doing it like this as apposed to just a cheque and credit card?

@JOEY_8 If you the type that likes to minmax you'll be get an excellent return from eBucks
Sounds great. I got an appointment with FNB tomorrow to switch over. Hopefully they able to move all my debit orders etc over.

Really appreciate all of the insight from everyone.

Heh?

You can’t get any more ebucks having both.

You can maybe gain a few pints to a reward level but pointless if you don’t need it and just pissing money away.

Don’t need anything more than Fusion.

Oh I see the credit card is now free.

Still, another hassle and account to manage.

Okay

So basically it’s FNB being retarded.

When the Fusion accounts came out the idea was to replace the double card and multiple accounts and simply have one single account with all the credit card benefits.

Then at some point in the last couple of years they went full retard and started charging for the facility (if you use it) and then gave you a credit card for free….which means you are back to the old system they tried to replace.

The only time there is any kind of real benefit now is if you don’t really use the overdraft and don’t pay for it as you score an ebucks reward level.

Pretty much why I never bothered with it initially. Now it's just a cheque with overdraft (which I already have and don't use the OD so don't pay) but R10 cheaper for the bundle and bumps you 1k reward points each month.
