Fnb-Credit Card Application Declined

A credit card saved my ass more than a few times.

It completely depends on what type of person you are, if you cannot control your spending then yes I'd say it's a bad idea but a credit card can be a very useful thing if you can manage it.

100% agree, keep the balance positive and limit your overdraft to the minimum, you can always increase it if required.

Go to Edgars - open a Thank U account

Spend half your account limit on stuff(tm)

Pay off the amount every month (maybe with a bit extra) every month until done

Reapply for Credit Card with payslip

Close Edgars account

Otherwise - go to Virgin Money - they are less strict about their Accounts there ... so it is an option to also build credit - you won't get E-Bucks but you don't have any card fees either - great starter card

My advice would be to put that idea on a back burner for now ! You are only 18 and a Credit Card is the last thing you need right now. Try to stay away from debt at all costs ..... A credit card is known as " Plastic Fantastic " Buy now-Pay later, there is always interest to pay and you remain in debt to the bank until all outstanding amounts have been settled. A better option would be to open a 32 day notice account and save as much as possible, when you find that something special you would like to purchase, put notice on some of your accumulated funds and then go buy your goodies CASH ! You will then be living a Financial independent life - owing no interest to the banks, but they owe you interest on your funds :)

the bank just want to give the money to the ritch ppl and that why they did block you and their did block for me also but I did get a kwai plan from my friend I did make my mommy pay her work money in my bank acount and then it look like I also get alota money and also ritch enough for a credit card maybe you must try that

Why do you want a credit card? In the past it was the most convenient way for online shopping, but that has changed now with debit (cheque) cards being accepted.

I got my first credit card at age 28, and that was only because I needed one to hire a car at the time. If you can avoid it, avoid it...

Just feel it's a good feature to have won't use it in a hurry but it's good to know I have

Hahaha any idea why they so strict?

Eish bro. You don't get it. A Credit card is there to make debt. It is not a fashion accessory. Why would the bank give you something that you won't be able to afford or that is just a "good feature" to impress the ladies. They are not strict, they are just not stupid. There is a good reason they are not giving you a credit card.

To protect themselves from risky customers who may not pay back, and to protect stupid people from themselves...
Lol I'm pretty sure people know the value plus they have a ID easy to get blacklisted if I'm not mistaken it's 46 extra a month

Would you lend money to some random, just because you have a copy of their ID and you could blacklist them?

Banks should be able to take the risk,I actually feel the system is corrupt people who don't deserve it get in but people who do deserve it don't get in
