FNB downtime frustrates users

I tried logging in on Sunday evening (actually about 1am on Monday morning) and got the same message. Thought they were doing maintenance over the weekend so thought nothing of it. Turns out the warning signs were already there.

Weird, i did a payment at 22:15 and all went through fine. Only thing that am worried about is the OTP function change :(.

Their foreign exchange was down for the entire weekend and it looks like there is a new Terms of Service to agree with upon login now.

same here

something in the back of my head screaming alarm - ie when i compare it to ABSA internet banking for example, FNB is just making it too simple ( and now they expect us to log into the website, and analyze the security logs to make sure no illegal login's has been made )

i would rather have something more secure (ie wasting a few more seconds to login and get started), than have it easily hackable :(

ah well
TIA
....lets just get some more lube as usual

Would love to know what went wrong.

When I tried making 3 credit card purchases and they all declined I knew something was wrong. Even two Paypal transactions were declined.

Hi, this is Steve from **** bank
Caller: Thank heavens Steve, I've been without Internet banking for hours!

At least the Comfirmation OTP is still there. So really don't see the need for the Login OTP anyway. You still can't make payments without the Confirmation OTP, unless it is added recipients.

Apparently had to do with MWEB's Network outage I hear. Poor FNB taking the heat for upstream providers problems. Feels familiar :)

All networks and web based systems have downtime and glitches... if man creates it, it won't be bug free!

I hope steve from **** bank will at least make his targets this month.

I haven't been able to connect to the app since yesterday. Frustrating but not a deal breaker. I still love FNB and Steve can go fukk himself ;)

Anyone having problems with FNB online banking at the moment? It's not sending out any confirmation OTP's and therefore you can't do anything on the site that requires this. What a fukk up.

FFS I came to myBB to see if i was alone and apparently not. Urgently trying to make a payment to a medical aid and now this. Idiots.....
