FNB has restored functionality to its Geo Payments service, following an outage.

I don't know about that. I use it to make and receive payments from other FNB customers without having to set up a beneficiary first - mobile app to mobile app

No, you have to be a FNB customer. You can receive payments from other FNB clients based on your GEO location. In other words, you can receive a payment from someone without giving them your account details.

no its the option to send to somebody else who is also FNB and has the App open at the same time to transfer cash easily.

if you want to transfer cash without having a bank account, one can use ewallet.

honestly I used it once, was quite a faff to get working, as you both need network connectivity, both have the app open, and then it shows up,

also not sure about the fee, think its R9 like a ewallet?

Not sure about the fees - you do need your location service activated

it's account to account. costs nothing. and I pay my work buddies like this almost weekly (one person buys lunch, the rest refund via geo payment)

This is exactly what we use it for as well, works well

I know that, but the article says:
"Recipients can then download the FNB app and accept the payment – regardless of who they bank with."

Hence my question
