FNB Mobile to launch soon

I'll take a wait and see approach. This is FNB with some of the most attractive data deals but it's only Cell C that would enable anyone to offer decent value for money. Just wish everyone would rather just announce something when it's launched and stop creating hype without delivering.

Rumour has it that it will be CC initially, but they won't be the only one...

I like the idea of roaming on all networks....

But if they launch purely on the CellC network, I won't even consider it until they have roaming on the better networks.

Can't see that working. Number of issues - Handover between 2 different networks for a roaming number; different costing models from a commercial perspective.

But lets see, maybe they have thought of everything and will blow us away.

Where I work Cell C is the better network,Vodacom is non existent cant even make a call without going outside and MTN works for calls but data is slow.

I've applied for a meandyou mobile sim because of this.I would subscribe to FNB also if the deals are good and having an account with them is not the over riding selling point.I am with standard bank as a transaction based bank and Capitec just for savings so I'm not really keen to have another bank account.

Where I work, and at home Cell C is perfectly acceptable, where I find that they fail massively is the mobility aspect.. If you have decent coverage in one place, you need to stay within a relatively small area... if you start moving, things get shaky.

Their data network is also massively flaky even if you have fantastic coverage.

You'll likely be offered a choice...

I like their voip service and i wonder what in store here

If it's on Cell C then it's dead before it even started.

The last plans were the use Cell C, I hope these are different because that network is terrible.
Its doomed to fail before it even starts if they dont partner with a better network.

It will be on Cell C and the reason for this is that Cell C has made massive investments in their network, apparently. I presume only time will tell how successful this will be. I'm not sure if other networks will be included later on.

Launch is scheduled for July 2015.

If its on CellC then I'm not interested.... their network is shyte.

The new eBucks rules state the following earn rule:
"NEW! Earn up to 40% back in eBucks on your qualifying FNB Connect contract or when loading FNB Connect prepaid airtime."

Does anyone have more information about FNB Connect - the network they will use and the mobile contracts or prepaid options that will be available?

Can you imagine having everything linked to one profile? Cheque account, credit account, home loans, vehicle financing, insurance, cellphone, mobile broadband, fixed line broadband, device purchases, ebucks, etc. - Honestly, these upcoming mobile deals from FNB could be entirely game changing...

This news has been going since last year, so tired of waiting.

I agree! Hopefulle we won't have to wait much longer since the eBucks earn on FNB Connect is effective from 1 July 2015 so I assume FNB Connect (mobile deals) should launch before or on that date.

You'll be able to choose your own number. The first 5 numbers will be predefined, and you'll get to choose the rest...

Launch is imminent. Check for an extra tab on the my accounts page.
