FNB PayPal withdrawal.

Anyone can spend a few minutes and get set up with Wise. No monthly fees. Just a small fixed fee for receiving funds from outside Wise (±$7) and a small fixed fee when sending to SA bank accounts (±R90).

Payoneer thinks they are god. Receiving money is a privilege with hoops involved, sending money has hoops too, minimum amounts involved, outrageous fees, slow processing times etc. Years ago during uni I was forced to use Payoneer when doing some freelance work for Livingston Research, and oh my god it was frustrating almost to the point of tears.
Receiving seems to be free except for Swift and Wire transfers. The conversion is like ± 0.7% and sending R86.34 which seems to be less than sending directly from $. So it only makes sense for large $500+ amounts and for smaller $300 or less it's better to use FNB.

Has anybody used them with Capitec and do you also need to complete additional documentation like when receiving from other sources?

Thanks, my payoneer account is banned, I will give wise a go. Fnb is also a pain to link my bank account if you not banking with them.
I've got a referral code for you if you're looking to open a wise account.

Alternatively, DM me if you're open to selling the dollars directly

Linking my account was very easy, if you follow the correct procedure for non clients. What proved a pain was FICA as their banking portal is one of the most convoluted and broken ones there is and kept throwing an error so I had to go into the branch and they did a FICA for my profile.

I get that error again that they need the FICA documents.
I could use it only for a few days. As you say it's broken. I had to contact serveral consultants, they had to a log a tehnical ticket, and no one followed up.
I had to do their work. Just very painful, I don't have energy to start again.

How much can you keep in a Paypal account? I lent a family member R30k last year. He's emigrated to UK and offered to pay me back in ZAR.

I'm like no, no, no I don't want ZAR. He's happy to give me GBP at last year's conversion rate but doesn't want to give me physical notes.

Or is it easier to just open an FNB offshore account. I'll have to research how those accounts work.

Open a Wise account and put the funds in there. Zero monthly cost and best rates for pretty much any transaction. If you want I can PM you a referral code which saves some of the fees should you ever decide to do a currency conversion.
