You should find a buyer for that on carb. Another option would be to buy crypto in PayPal and send to a local exchange, but IIRC PayPal crypto has some steep fees450 USD.

I'd also take one of those codes as I was just about to open an account.Open a Wise account and put the funds in there. Zero monthly cost and best rates for pretty much any transaction. If you want I can PM you a referral code which saves some of the fees should you ever decide to do a currency conversion.
I think I was the first person to recommend Wise for bypassing FNB's nonsense.I'd also take one of those codes as I was just about to open an account.

I also second Wise and you can even use it as a regular account to buy stuff off Amazon and other sites. Paypal crypto isn't available for SA.
That's a bold (and untrue) claimI think I was the first person to recommend Wise for bypassing FNB's nonsense.
If you feel so inclined, this is my referral link: https://wise.com/invite/dic/brynb10
Thank youI sent you a pm
Just checked. We both posted on 18 and 19 March 2021 in this thread. So pretty even. I was thinking of a thread on SA Gamer or Carb perhaps earlier in the month when I first started using Wise to cashout PayPal. I created a thread somewhere to punt Wise over FNB's PayPal integration. That's a bold (and untrue) claim
PayPal closed an account shortly after creation? Bizarre. In any case I tried to open a Paypal business account as it's more flexible to set up donations but it just summarily blocked my account. They also didn't even want me to set up a business name as it just failed with no reason given.
According to them I'm too much of a risk as they can't verify my info. I'd like to know how they're going to really verify a business account in a private individual's name, the very thing the option is for. It's not like I'm going to register a business with my own name for doing business with people. I even complied with the flags that were on my account initially and it said everything was fine after that.PayPal closed an account shortly after creation? Bizarre.
My PayPal business account has been a PITA a few times, freezing my balance twice for nearly a month with no ability to fast-forward the process. Each time I had to provide additional documents, and the second time required registering a company when I had zero practical reason to do so.
Could have been worse. A dev I'm friends with suffered immense emotional trauma a few years back after PayPal froze his balance for around 8 months. It was his first mega project, with a huge deposit, and a client who could refer loads more business, and thanks to those funds being locked up, the project collapsed slowly and awkwardly whilst he dried himself up financially to try to compensate for the lack of a usable deposit.
Initially, PayPal support was apologetic but said they could not circumvent the automatic anti-fraud measures. And by the end, they were snarkily telling him that this is exactly why they put these measures in place, whilst returning the funds to the client.
Makes me wonder if I should get a Stripe Atlas account...
Ahem, she doesn't want to pay you?I have a client in America who ive done work for before she normally takes a week or 2 to pay me. I've just recently done over 20k work for her ive created an invoice because she said she no longer has a PayPal account and now she is saying her bank wont allow her to pay overseas bank. Um this is PayPal isn't it based in America? It's an invoice she can pay with VENMO on the invoice. It's literally the easiest thing in the world for an American to make a payment. This shouldn't be a problem im still doing work for her I don't understand the problem
I have a feeling its this... I would stop any further work till payment is made...Ahem, she doesn't want to pay you?
I would also hesitate doing any further work for such a client, if the situation is rectified, without getting the majority of the payment as a deposit.I have a feeling its this... I would stop any further work till payment is made...
