Who cares if they're doing a good job at it? Their banking alone is better than most, so it's not like they have to improve on their core business...

Agree with Mike. In recent times FNB have excelled in many of services they offer, so we can expect more of the same. I still want to see where the benefits will be to FNB account holders. Will there be any benefits from this synergy?

I honestly don't think this is a good idea, they must stick with what they know and concentrate on THAT.
They run independent business units, so the focus on one does not necessarily affect the performance of the others.

I personally think that it is a good idea. Having this in-house is the way to go as mobile banking will be overtaking internet banking by the end of the decade, says Monitise.

This will help reduce M-Banking fraud as well and banks and Service Providers won't play the blame game when SIM swaps occur as one of the steps for fraud.

But when 1 messes up or has issues, you associate that with the bigger daddy which is FNB.

It's a bank, stay a bank.

Is there anything wrong with their banking service? If not, then what is the problem?

Nothing wrong with the banking.
But my point is, if there is a issue with the ADSL, then people will think the same thing will happen with the banking side.
Issue here... well, then there will be issues THERE type deal.

True, but it's also a two way street in terms of there is potential good will/free advertising for FNB if the other business units do a good job.

Bud please go share those sentiments with Apple and so many others that should never have bothered to go into fields where they don't belong.

Or the largest Medical Aid administration company and Adrian Gore when he started it up as part of a project within First Rand Group.
