FNB Spotify payment issue.

Is anyone els having issues with entering their card details on Spotify.

A bit of back story, last year I used my FNB Gold debit card to sign up for spotify premium, everything was fine up untill this year where my card was comprimised and the card was cancelled. I got a new exact same card from FNB and it works just fine EXCEPT with spotify.

It keeps saying payment failed, both spotify and FNB have done everything under the sun to get it to work but it just wont. FNB is saying that Spotify isnt even atempting to send a request to verify the card. Now they are saying FNB or spotify may have removed "a feature" that worked for my previous card.

It just doesnt make sense as steam and google play work fine for this card, anyone else have this nonsesnse.

FNB is also telling me to get a personalised debit card which i think is BS as my previous one works just fine.
 
Hi, I’m having this issue as well. I tried using a personalized MasterCard from another bank but still getting same error. Also found a Reddit thread discussing this issue


Just an update, its now working, on your FNB under cards it must NOT say Activate/Update Online secure, it must say activated.


Also Spotify needs to unblock you from too many failed payments. Once that is done the card will be accepted.


If you are on Spotify live chat ask for a 2nd level support agent, only they can unblock you, you will get an email 3 days later saying you have been unblocked.

Quick q: You sign up to spotify from the .com or .co.za site or doesn't really matter?
 
I seem to be having the same issue now all of a sudden? Used to work though.

@Rickster - how do you get it to show "activated", I did go and set it up etc but it just stays on "Activate\Update"?

I dont know, it still doesnt work.

Ive given up.
 
I think I'm going that route as well - bank useless as fck with feedback and\or assistance!
 
Did you also get another card or something?

My card just stopped working, switched to my wife's account and it worked until she got her new card then it stopped.

Seems it's a dead end.
