Hi all

oky so back light(indicator bulb) seems to have died,in the car the indicator light is twice as fast.

bought a bulb at midas today and replaced it but its still dead and all the indication lights are still flashing twice as fast?

could the 2nd bulb be dead as well or could there be another problem?
Focus 1.6 2008

still dead or still flashing fast?

if flashing fast, does it do so when indicating to just the side with the original blown bulb or on both sides?

It flashes fast the side mirror and front indicator (back is dead)

Right side is fine

Ok so left rear is blown, new bulb does not work, swapped it with bulb from right still does not work.

Does the new midas bulb with in the right hand side? And also does the original bulb from the right side Still work after you tested it on the left? So we know if the left is blowing bulbs.

Have you got a multimeter? If you do you could check the left side to see if it's providing voltage.

Seem to have found the problem

the plate that pushes and makes contact with the bulb seems to have lowered a bit i just pulled a bit to rise it and it started working again

but i have another question, bought this car 2nd hand ,do they have a shift indicator on the dash cause when i start the car and the dash lights come on there is a red arrow that points up.

just disappears and never seen again until i start it up again?

From the Ford Owners Club forum:
the shift up arrow can be activated using the elm cable and ff2 software shown in Preee's guide. not much use though as only comes on at 6500rpm

Try buying the bulbs from the agents. I always thought the ones at Midas/ Autozone would work the same but the license plate bulbs on my Corolla kept blowing (replaced 2 or 3 times). So much so that I thought the car had an electrical fault. Eventually I tried one from Toyota, and it never blew again.

The bulb wasn't the problem...
