Fog Lamps.....

The bottom line is that its against the law to use fog lights in clear conditions.
http://transport.dot.gov.za/library/regulations/1999/roadregs06.html

Please note that rain is not mentioned as the road surface is very reflective when it rains and this worsens the problem of fog lights.

So there you have it. Lucky for you Fazda there is no law for being tasteless, classless and unimaginative (aka driving a VAG) but there is a law against the improper use of fog lights.

Remember, by steak knife us color coded with my gay teal Corsa...

Isn't it against the law to bitch and moan like you do? If not, then someone should make it a law.

Well thats three of them so far. Coincidence ?

BTW - do you use your fog lights in non-fog conditions?

It should be more than three by now. You're just like a little kid with a superiority complex...

Anyway, yes I do use my front fog-lights sometimes when driving on open roads or highway because it makes me more visible and I'm not really keen to be hit by some blind old man or person that can't see too well. (no offence)

Maybe you should start a thread about people that cut in front of you from 2 lanes to your right only to turn left, right in front of you. I find things like that way more "distracting" and dangerous than people driving with their front fog-lights on.

Oh, and I think you should get another hobby besides being a VW hater- that's just getting real old.

Good point. One of the other problem I have with beem drivers. It's almost asif the sales rep at the garage gave them a manual on how to be a good road hog, or something like that. Mind you Audi and Toyota double cab drivers seem to fall in the same category

Stop trying to find other illegal actives to down play this one against.. Driving with your fog lights on in non foggy conditions is wrong and other people driving with machines guns blazing will not make fog light abuse legal in any way.

It is also against the law to cause malicious damage to other peoples property by kicking in their fog lights but lets not relate the two.

Seems you are the idiot then, but hey, who am I do point that out.
But now that we have established that, what car do you drive ?

Rouxenator, I think it's clear that you're the only idiot here. And many others will say, and have said before, the same thing. What is your age, by the way? Cause you don't act the age of anyone who should be legally allowed to drive a car.

True, but so is driving 80km/h in a 60km/h zone as well. Or 160km/h in a 120km/h. Please, especially with your beemer, tell you NEVER, EVER, AT ALL, go over the speed limit? Then, maybe you have a valid ground to stand on saying it's against the law to use fog lights. By the way, turning without indicators or overtaking on a solid line, or even on the left in the yellow is against the law as well.

Have you had this before? Sounds like you're talking from experience?

OK - so basically what you are saying is that unless I have never broken a traffic law I cannot tell you it is illegal to drive with your fog lights on in conditions that do not permit their usage?

I mean, seriously, is that your point of view on this?

Driving with your fog-lights on in normal conditions is illegal, simple as that, all the arguments for driving with them on during normal conditions are purely selfish and incorrect, they do not extend your visibility, they do impede oncoming drivers ability to see at night, they are not designed to be used during normal conditions. But hey to all that do kudos to you, hopefully you've not bred as the gene pool does need to be cut down a bit.

Stop taking people's posts out of context, geez. What's wrong with you?

I said I sometimes drive with my fog-lights on, on open roads and highway. It's not town-driving, it's different. If you actually have more.
I drive a 2010 new Polo. So what now? Am I an idiot because I own a VW? Pfft. Get a real job man.

+1

no, it's your point of view. You're the one who keeps rephrasing "it's against the law to drive with fog lights in conditions that don't permit it." I counted similar words to those 4 times already in just this one thread.

I don't think he has ever exceeded the speed-limit dude, he must have a squeaky clean record and clear conscience to resort to telling people that driving with their fog-lights on is illegal and they should be prosecuted.

/Epic rolling of the eyes

OK, lets take a quick overview here before I draw my conclusion.

no, it's your point of view.

Now please refer to (1) and tell me again that what I said in (2) is actually my point of view?

Hence my conclusion; It seems to me that you are having a real hard time to put things into context but at the same time you can call me an idiot. While I will not delve to that level I will leave you to see the error of your ways.

I drive a 2010 new Polo. So what now? Am I an idiot because I own a VW?

No, but you do fit the trend that was established.

During today's Mythbusters, we investigated the myth that Rouxenator is an idiot and based on the conclusive evidence gathered on this particular myth, we can safely say: MYTH BUSTED! ^5

Uhm, hate to break it to you but I am an expert in trolling and what you have done their is a blatant, yet failed, attempt at trolling. Don't insult my honour, I am a much better troll than you could ever dream to be and it seems now that I am actually having a meaningful and sensible debate you fail at that too.

So now you're and idiot as well as a troll? Good for you dude, keep making your own bed.

*Shock and horror to ensue...*

Though we are on opposite sides of the front fog light issue, I have to agree with your estimation here. Dunno what to0kenZA's trying to say, but that was an abject failure.

Well, the moral of the story is that you cannot argue with a troll..
