Humans breed like cockroaches, if a human is killed, there will be 10 more born in a matter of seconds. If a rhino is killed they are wiping out a big percentage of rhinos. So yes Rhinos are more important than people.

And did any of you watch 3rd Degree last night? They had an expose on the poaching of rhinos. There were two fat bastard South Africans that had legal possession of rhinos but shot them in a canned situation. The one prick filmed a shooting. They wait until midday when the temperature is at its peak because the rhino will be lying down in the shade. They just walked up to it and shot it. It required 8 shots to kill it and the thing was making horrible high-pitched screams as they just plugged away at it. Worse still is that neither of those two fat pricks have been arrested, not even the one who filmed it, and both refused interviews. I'd publicly name and shame them at the least. Plaster their faces on billboards or something.

These were not poor people looking for money to survive. These were well off game owners.

Surely a case could be made for animal cruelty? Even if you own them you aren't allowed to inflict unnecessary suffering.

Eh, I used the term 'murderer', which is defined as "a person who commits murder". You're referring to my use of the noun "murderer", please get them facts straight, mm-kay?

But let's split grammatical hairs whilst the person who "committed murder, that is, performed an act of killing or slaughtering inhumanly or barbarously" should roam freely? I stand by my point, a person shooting a rhino intentionally should be labelled a murderer, given the dire circumstances which the species finds itself in.

He sold the horns. Which is illegal. That is the criminal aspect.

Then there's the ethical aspect of waiting for the animal to lay down due to the heat before having to shoot that animal 8 times before it died.

Essentially canned hunting with the view to trade in an illegal good.
