There has been a price reduction on MTN Starter Packs. They are currently on sale at Pick 'n Pay for 41c.

Time to stock up!

My previous collection seems to have expired and the SIMs have to go in the bin. I didn't pay a lot for them, but it seems a waste. Some good numbers amongst them too.

Simple.
When you load a data bundle, it expires after 30 days and you lose the remaining credit.

If you under-estimate your requirement and use it up after 20 days, you cannot load another onto that SIM until 30 days are up.

So if you buy a small bundle of, say 10Mb, then you can't load another bundle until after 30 days, so you break out a fresh starter pack.

If you have enough SIMs you will be able to find one that you can use (i.e. a farm).

hehe, this works well, an ingenious method to circumvent MTNs odd bundle 'refreshment' rules....
a bit dof tho that MTN hasnt yet had somebody with the forward thinking in the correct position to address this issue... i.e. get their act together and allow bundle refresh / renewals at any time
guess the 'juniors' have been telling them THAT is what the market wants, but the boss says "no, lets rather waste munny on producing more sim cards, and have to keep records of more pre-paid sim accounts online..."
a bit like gov no? :D

This way they can boost subscriber numbers. 1 Sim farmer = 20 extra numbers. Looks better on the stats.:(

The Idea of a SIM Farm can only be conceived by an MTN customer...being happy with vodacom, I have never needed to think up such ridiculous ideas...

also, who buys a 10Meg bundle? whaaaaaaa!

Vodacom didn't have the mid-bundle top-up facility at the beginning. It also has its limitations where you may need a spare SIM. We'll call them subsistence farms then :D

So Vodacom are not "Vodascum" to you any more then fanboy?
